Sorry for late reply first time i read this. Roxy and I Agree so much so that she wrote a thread with about 30 different events in with desc. for our staff you use and it's getting better to be fair. It is something i will look at when i'm approving events for the September calender this week

As for hosting the big events our EO's aren't allowed to organize events like that alone but if we talked about this with the assistant general managers im sure the department could do something like that. Not like every month though like bi-annual because we would want them to be "special".

Hope this sort of helped and i do agree with your points

An event isn't just a "game". Things such are Falling Furni, Don't roll a 6 are games, making them into events. But that doesn't mean that's the only thing an event is. I think mwah has a really good point and it would fullfill the "event" status. I would agree with Alex that a Big Brother would probably fail, as out of the thousands of members Habbox has you'll have about 20 wanting to play, and probably ending that they can't make it, just like the HBB. Again, like mwah said, there aren't enough "forum" events. Half the time many Habbox Members turn up (agreed) and that tends to be through the radio, and normally it's not even them who win - it tends to be someone out of the bloom who hasn't a care about Habbox, again what mwah said.

I wouldn't go for a full "more than one day duration event" yet but maybe start off with more Forum Events as that would help the Habbox Publicity rather than just Habbo Users. I think mwah has raised some really good points up and I totally agree with them.

EDIT: Lucy has raised a good point about we don't want them to occur too often, but if they're yearly, then my bet will be that we have that event once then it gets chucked away. Many things have been tried like this, I think the only succesful one has been Habbox Summer Spectacular. You'd also need to make multiple types event, rather than all Big Brothers, and they should try to be quite common but again quite rare as well.

    1) First of all, you need to think of an event to run, not a party, or a ball - the General Management will run these. An event is things like Fallin' Furni and Races, including modern games such as Walk the Plank. Although you could do a load of fallin’ furni’s, try to be creative because otherwise they’ll start to get boring!
    Does that answer?

EDIT: If you want something for forum users, isnt that up to the forum staff

Im sure MissAlice hosted a Forum Quest ages ago?

Well yeah Big Brother is worst example cos it sucks
However, I do agree! I don't know how many quizzes I've been to lately but when alex3213 is there, they should rename it to 'Beat Alex3213' to make it original!

Bigger events should be one-off things to punctuate the never-ending cycle of falling furni, quizzes etc. I do not see why events department can't do this.

On a brighter note, the competitions department will be doing big competitions soon (like quests etc) so maybe that will give you something to do... even if it's not the department you're talking about?

    That's from the handbook btw

@Mwah - That's what productions used to do like talk shows and the whole department collapsed. We're events so i don't see us ever doing talk shows.

Im sure maybe you could Make a thread in Spam and say

1000 Post gets a months VIP and 200 reps points..

Thats not a very good idea for a forum event but im sure you can come up with something!

Yeah but this isn't a party or a ball, this is still a type of social event which replies gameplay. I agree that it should be lead with General Management's hands but it shouldn't just be them. Even if the Events Staff aren't actually there, they should still work behind the scenes enabling the event to go smoothly. So rather than Back at School, an event like this would be pretty good.

About the Forum Events, sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick but I think that it should still be typical events like you do now, but you'd have to be signed up to play just so that they show respect to the community rather than Random Habbos. I can guarentee 99% of Random Habbos who have no clue about Habbox won't tune in/sign up unless a mate themselves tells them to.

This, therefore, shouldn't be done by Forum Staff. They moderate the forum rather than do Habbo based things. It'd still be an event by the Events Team just Forum Members only.

EDIT: Oh right I get it now (mwah's post). As well as what I said, forum prizes would be good as an additional bonus .

event - something that happens at a given place and time

Thats my understanding of event, i dont see why events should not be in charge of "Habbox Balls" and other things like that, including chatshows. They should obv tell managment if they are hosting a ball or some other big event tho.

Productions failed because there was no demand for those sorts of things regularly. Maybe once a year or something but having it in the job description for a department isn't an option imo, too much work for little reward.
