If people want a prize they should work for it.

You guys are silly. Only 5 randomly selected people get the badge and credits, so about 5 extra people getting the answer is not going to harm your chances.

Hypothetically if 100 people enter you have a 1/100 chance of getting it, another 100 from this forum enter you know have 1/200 in getting it. So it does harm your "chances"

Lets say about 10,000 people enter the competition - that's a fair amount since it was something like 18,000 that applied for Big Brother?

And an extra... 20 people or so get the answer from this forum.
