I knew it was all based on a true story, didn't realise it was that accurate though. All I was getting at is the fact he's moving away from civilisation and everything materialistic, and first thing he does is camp out in a man-made vehicle. Like I said though, amazing film.

He's moving away from civilization but not in the sense that he's moving away from everything man-made. He's moving away from the people and the way of living. Ultimate freedom and a 'spiritual pilgrimage' is what he wanted to experience.
