Fights against cyber bullying are about as pointless as the pointless crap the persons bullying with.I have actually lmaobut i cant seem to find anything helpful if they can find out my IP or not and if they have grounds to.
Also @Stephen its a big issue about cyber bullying and stuff even though im in high school they make a big deal about it. We were just joking for the fun of it nothing serious but i guess they took it the wrong way.
any other helpful answers would be nice
well it was a freewebs guestbook
and i read the terms and stuff it costs 50$ per 1 IP you want to find out if ur with the law or a school offical so i doubt there gonna pay thta for every person cuz theres about 200 comments lmao

Ah damn, you're going to jail kid.
I hardly think your school would take it that far to find who it really is via the IP Address. The Police will most likely say its wasting their time if its nothing "serious" at all.
Thats basically what i've been saying(to my friends) and the Principal is just saying he'll do IP checks as a threat which he really can't do. I don't think they'll bring it that far either as it really isn't that bad. Pretty much i think my friends are just gonna deny everything when they get called in and it will eventually be dropped.

Good thing there are no incrimating postings on the public interweb that could easly be found through a basic google search...
...
Uh oh...
The ability to trace ip's to a person is somewhat more fictional that most think. Assuming you used a public pc in the school, Useing there leet skills of ip traceing, they may discover such enlightening facts such as ip being used by the school...

The chances of the subpoena the IP of the isp are pretty minimal (and are supposed to require a court order) Then that tells them whos internet connection it was. That limits it to the household, and if the networks secure, any computer literate person who comes within wifi range, and if its unsecured, pretty much anyone whos ever been near your house with a laptop o.0
thats very smart i didnt think about that wifi thing which would be a last resort excuse

It would take time and it would be a waste of time for your school and the ISP to be honest. It was probably not even serious, have they said anything else since?
