Stop the Cavalry is fab, also the entirety Mariah Carey's Christmas album is joy in disc form. For some reason I also like Mud - Lonely This Christmas but I don't know why

Trivia on Stop the Cavalry - it wasn't actually produced as a Christmas song, just became referred to as one because of the one Christmas lyric and melody.

My favourite Christmas song is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty McColl. And yes, she died on December 18th, 2000. She died a very honourable death - she was swimming with her kids in Mexico when a boat that was going way too fast was heading right for one of her kids, so she pushed him/her at the way and let it hit her instead. She died instantly I believe, and was nearly decapitated.

Oh yeah I heard she was hit by a boat, didn't know the full story though. Wasn't Christmas Eve then either.

It'll always be 'Merry Xmas Everybody' by Slade, followed by Chris de Burgh's 'A Spaceman Came Travelling'.

Has to be The Pogues - Fairytale of New York or Jona Lewie - Stop The Cavalry.
