Phillip Schofield just informed me that his favourite film of the decade is Harry Brown (eek), and his least favourite is Couples Retreat. Random.

I agree, I really enjoyed lost in translation, seems everyone did. However I didn't really think slumdog millionaire lived up to the hype people were giving it - it was average imo. Quite a good list as well although District 9 and Babel would have made it into mine, I agree with your choices.

Slumdog Millionaire left a bad taste in my mouth because of how I feel about Danny Boyle as a person, and the film was built as some kind of strictly independent film, which wasn't the case at all. It was good, but nothing more in my eyes. As for District 9, I found it decent, but it didn't live up to the hype.

I think the Dark Knight deserves a spot on the list, an iconic film in so many ways.

It'd take me a long while to make such a list, seen too many films to make an opinion on what should/n't be on there.

Mudholland drive is an interesting pick, I guess your in that camp rather than the Donnie Darko one?
    something.

I can't say how many thousands of films I've seen since 2000, but it's easier than you may think to come up with a top ten list.

The Dark Knight is grossly overrated in my opinion.

Donnie Darko is indeed a good film, but I feel that Mulholland Dr. towers above it.

Good list, although I believe The Departed is incredibly overrated.

My list would be something like this...

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001 - 2003, directed by Peter Jackson)

Into The Wild (2007, directed by Sean Penn)

Oldboy (2003, directed by Chan-wook Park)

District 9 (2009, directed by Neill Blomkamp)

Letters From Iwo Jima (2006, directed by Clint Eastwood)

Spirited Away (2001, directed by Hayao Miyazaki)

The Incredibles (2004, directed by Brad Bird)

Gladiator (2000, directed by Ridley Scott)

Shaun of the Dead (2004, directed by Edgar Wright)

Big Fish (2003, directed by Tim Burton)
