    because when the sky got fitted im sure there were different cables which went in the HD box

    They may get confused if the signal is dropping in and out a lot, a bit like mobile phones do.

    And it will work, they both use the same coaxial cable up to the dish.

    We removed the Sky+ Box from upstairs and plugged it in on the main TV, it works. It's the HD Box failing.

    I think it's because we got a free HD Box as part of the deal, haha.

    free HD Box = used before?

    Probably a defect haha

    The cables should work with all boxes's my mums old boss bought a sky HD box off ebay cos his Sky+ was knackered (only £20 used mint condish) works like a dream, gets several free HD channels - No hd tv though

    Non the less it should still be in good working order. They should fit a new one free of charge as they break from time to time like anything. It could also be a defect with HD, i personally so no glory in it.
