It worked out about this when I joined in 2005, yeah

Still, Habbo / Sulake is a company and they need to get money from somewhere. They know the majority of punters will buy credits whatever the price.

Well I suppose they see the fact people buy their creds and the more they do, the more they can charge. I respect them as a business but their customer service is just revolting most times.

I doubt also it has ANYTHING to do with VAT due to the fact that was 17.5% till December 2008 anyway and that 35 credit thing was around well before that.

Im sure back in 08 when i had a random urge to play for a few months, it was £3.50 for 35 , i dont know how sulake would be making any more profit, they could do 40 for £3.50 and make more due to more people buying them for extra 5 credz

It costs nothing for Habbo to give you credits so the recession hasnt hit them, obviously or they wouldnt be giving the customer less for their money if they wanted to get more money they would have put it up to 45 per £3. Also, VAT has gone/is going to 17.5% again but that tax deduction didnt effect the value of credits/cost when buying, all it meant was sulake paid 2.5% less business tax, to help them and ever other business through the recession by not paying that tax.

    But still, stupid move.
