Aren't they usually cleared regularly anyway? Aparently it wasn't done last year though if jake has some from 2008![]()

Yeah my earliest one is November 2008 which was 14 months ago. Long overdue :8
I know... lol :S It was issued 14 months ago...
Yeah, great. My point is they should be expired if they're 6 months or older, nothing about a clear out. Although as far as I'm aware there were no clear outs throughout 2009.
If they're expired/reversed does it make any difference to a user if they're their or not? I'd support this for reversed infractions if any at all, as those obviously weren't meant to be there anyway, but expired ones are still useful to have on record I guess so that those who need to will know what sort of record you have. They can't very well say "this is a more serious offence for you as you've done this before and we've warned you about it previously" if there's no record of that being the case, whereas if you're now reformed then having them in your old details won't matter anyway
If they're that old then you've already been punished for it. User notes are there to see your record, that was the sole reason they were added. So if infractions/warnings serve that purpose then user notes should be scrapped because there is no need to have two systems which perform the same function. It's like having a reputation and a thanks system which work the same way installed on the forum rather than one or the other.
Agreed ^ Tbh there's a massive emphasis on user notes atm I hear loads of people whinging saying "oh i have a user note boo hoo". They're only there to tell moderators which rules you've been reminded about (as well as exceptional notes but they don't happen often), they're not a punishment.
Sorry that was a bit tangental it just gets on my boobies a bit![]()
Although you did go off on a tangent a bit I think this is something that really needs saying.Agreed ^ Tbh there's a massive emphasis on user notes atm I hear loads of people whinging saying "oh i have a user note boo hoo". I know why people have been looking at usernotes as punishments as I have seen moderators saying in PM's "You have recieved a usernote at Habbox Forum" etc. Although it doesn't actually say anywhere in moderation guides that this shouldn't be done (and this is probably something that should be changed).
Usernotes are only added when a moderator PMs a member and that's all the member needs to know, that the polite PM warning them not to break the rules is their "punishment" as it were, a usernote is merely a record that a moderator spoke to you. They mean nothing other than that, obviously if you start getting 40/50 usernotes it's like "ok then, a moderator has had to speak to you quite often..., what's going on?" but never are usernotes used as punishments and in theory it shouldn't make a difference to members whether they are there or not.
I agree completely that a clear out of old infractions should occur. By old I mean ones that expired quite a while ago, however as I think has already been said in this thread: Expired infractions do not count towards your record or further punishement.
I heard on the grapevine something was planned regarding this a month or two ago but it seems nothing materialised from it.
