    North East have it til' 2012 (last place to get it turned off), so for a temporary fix to begin with, 2 years should be long enough before getting a TV.

    You should be able to do what you intend to.


    I wonder, could you plug in ANY HDMI device (Blu-Ray player, for example) to a PC with an HDMI port? Would it work? (I somehow doubt it would, but you never know...)

    You can plug any HDMI device into a MONITOR, don't plug it into your computer.

    Sometimes you might have problems with the HDCP encryption though as some monitors don't support it.

    Didn't think you could. I really ought to get a HDMI monitor. Or wait till I want a new TV and use the old Samsung .
