1080p is win. Once you're used to watching it anything below it looks rubbish ;D

251GB of TV shows though . None of that is even HD.

Wow I don't have a HD monitor so I don't bother with HD stuffs, download times are massive too

Edit: Yeah tom I know the feeling, when I got my ps3 for christmas I plugged it into the TV downstairs and it looked gorjuss even though the games are only like 720p, now I have it plugged into my 4:3 TV upstairs which has like the worlds lowest resolution makes me cry

My TV is 1366x768 so no point . Also since my TV is 32" I have calculated that in a best case scenario the human eye (perfect vision) can not physically see detail greater than 720p from a distance of just under 2m and further (god, what has my uni course done to me?). Since I watch from around 2 metres away all is good .

What size is your projector screen? I fancy doing some maths.

Lol Nick that's great Assume my TV has a resolution of 480p (its there or there abouts, whatever the 4:3 equivalent is) and I'm watching it from 6 feet away... idk what my question is I just find this stuff interesting Do something with those numbers lmao

110" with an approx 8-9ft distance from screen.

And I've done the maths and it concludes that I'd benefit from a even higher resolution

Rather than post my spreadsheet I found i'll just use this graph:

What I calculated seems to follow that chart reasonably well.

For your 110" I calculated that from around 6.54m and further you will see no benefit from anything better than 720p. 4.36m and further back was the number I got for 1080p.

Now let's consider your case. 9' is around 2.75m. At 2.75m on a 110" screen I calculate that you will not physically be able to see any detail greater than 1712p (not that that exists or yout projector does that res ).

I used the info & spreadsheet you can find at:

    http://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter
    http://carltonbale.com/home-theater/...ter-calculator

Which calculates the stuff based on Visual Acuity (Which you can input, if you know it, based on your eyesight else it just uses the "standard" 20/20), Maximum and Recommended THX viewing distances, the Maximum SMPTE recommended viewing distance and peripheral vision field of view.

And I used physics of the way light works and the size of the receptors on the retina in the eyeball . Assuming your eye works perfectly and I don't need to correct for imperfect vision. I'm not an optometrist .

Meh, i put that PS in because i want to Overclock, and the deafult PSU that comes with it (Its a custom packadge im putting tgether) comes with one tht u cant really Overclock. I might even relace the PSu with an extream version.

    Anyways,

if you can, try beat that price with somit with better specs, I dont really need a flashy case, its for gaming with TF2 and WoW, max £600-£700 Because when my Pay check comes in ill be able to aford quite abit..

And the HDD - Im going to whipe my current one and use two HDD's, One for data / Media / Films and one for games atc.. I might even buy a second HDD for 1080p Films.
