Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (and I obv voted for it)#

Those are the ones I wouldn't mind winning, if I deleted a topic it means I didn't play the games (or the majority).

Batman maybe for a few as well but I donno, it was a sweet game but I'm not sure it compares well for Assassins Creed, then obvious handheld winner and the family games stuff, Nintendo are all over that.
I totally agree with Borderlands. Never had more fun with co-op in any videogame ever.

MW2 has run out of game, hasn't reinvented the cycle, broke most of its mechanics. L4D2 is great for PC but us 360ers get awful server connections.

Arkham Asylum was a breath of fresh air from the usual comic book tripe. You can't compare it to Assassins Creed really, since Arkham is strictly linear and Creed has more freedom.

Nintendo will win all the casual categories because it prints money.

and tbh, although U2 was a lot like the graphics in the first game, it was still faaaaaaaar better than that of any of those nominated.
Flower was released in February. I remember playing the review copy and being awestruck by it.

Uncharted 2 is the real deserver of 'Best Game', but it's so obvious Casual of Duty 2 will win.

Here's my list. Italics is what I personally want to win and normal is what my predictions of what will win.

So did Borderlands, MW2 and I think some Wii game but I don't remember.

    BAFTAs decide the actual GoTY.

    Arguable.

Most publishers regard the 'Spike TV VGAs' and the GDC awards (next month), I remember when the ESRB wouldn't allow the GotY of Fallout 3 to be commissioned until GDC awards came in.

BAFTAs still count though. Too bad they usually just shove celebrities on our screens, who are apparently 'gamers'.

Not to say some celebs aren't gamers, it's all for publicity really, Dara (who's hosting) is an older gamer than I am.

So really there is no real Game of the Year, personally I'd go by BAFTAs because that's more official but I guess in the "gaming universe" stuff like GDC and Spike is something better to go by.

I guess it's best they had more than one GoTY anyway, if I had my way you could only get GoTY if it was a new IP or at least a previous game in the series hadn't already got it.

BAFTAs are always biased towards the casual audience, or British developers. GDC is more of a collective of worldwide developers and journalists.

LMAO MW2 and FIFA10 are the only games on that list which I've played and they certainly don't deserve any of those awards. Why is FIFA10 even nominated for best game? :S Just from what I see people talking about on the forum, I'm sure lots of those other nominations are far superior.

I want The Beatles: Rock Band to win family & social. I know it will probably be a Wii game or Guitar Hero 5 though.

Where is ODST on original score? Martin O'Donnel is a genius.
