Someone from my subscriber base offered to send me a "ATI Radeon HD 4870" free of charge as it doesnt work on his 64-bit system and he lost his receipt. Should I take this and what PSU would I need.

Yes, take it. Now. And The PSU I posted above will be fine with it.

And lol, it makes no difference that his system is 64-bit, it's clearly an issue other than the type of OS. Don't tell him though otherwise you might not get the card .

Yeah, he's sending it tomorrow. I've just gotta' pay for shipping via PP.
How much do you think shipping will cost?

If it's boxed then like £4-5? If not then about £2.

These are rough guesses. Use the royal mail calculator on their website for more accuracy.

Depends how big the box is lol.

It could be more than I put as it's heavier than I though. Maybe like £7. Definately no where near £30.

Right, the card came today in the post. It was indeed a Sapphire HD4870.
I know for sure I'll need a new PSU. What else will I need, my monitor is VGA and the card's output is DVI so I was wondering should I just get a DVI to HDMI adapter and then plug it straight into my 32'' TV. The card's box says HDMI support. I was wondering also if someone could recommend a nice cheap gaming mouse + keyboard for me too along with a good and low-priced PSU that will support this card.

The card would've come with a DVI to VGA adaptor and probably a DVI to HDMI (a lot of those cards did).

I'd recommend sticking to your montor rather than TV to be honest. It's probably a better resolution and at a distance/position more suitable for gaming and using a keyboard + mouse.

Maybe buy this PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135159 Never buy a "budget" PSU.
