I agree totally, they are a billion million times better in their early days. They are nothing like Emo, they're only classed as Emo by some eejits who know nothing about music becasue they wear eyeliner . Emo's a load of ****e anyway, like American Idiot!.

No don't buy American Idiot because you will get very bored of it, as it is always on TV/Radio anyway. Buy Dookie, International Superhits and Nimrod.

*Giggles at thought of Greenday being emo*
But as RedStratocas said, they've been around just as long as any band - it just wasn't the new trend and people didn't show it in the same way. Emo = Silly. I think I'd better stop there before I rant on about my "love" towards them. :p

Right okay. Hell, I've said this before and I'm stickin' by it - their old stuff is better. Along with the fact their newer songs off "American Idiot" are complete crud, I guess I'm also not too keen on the new 'crowds' they are attracting (people who haven't seen past their popular and manufactured songs). Greenday have been around for years, why the sudden obsession with them now? But then again, they're doing well so congratulations for the band in become a success.

For the people who say they are punk, are wrong. As punk is pretty much dead, the punk bands are The Who, The Clash, *** Pistols etc. But punk-rock is probably the best definition for their earlier stuff, but the newer stuff i'd say is pop-punk.

yes I agree. They have attracted too many teenies, I mean, Billie Joe was in a magazine under "Hottest Boys of Summer" I mean what?! I think their next album might be more heavier, more punk, just to knock off some of the teenies. Most of the new fans havn't even heard past their American Idiot album and they don't even know they have other albums. And by next year the new 'crowds' will find another band to obsess about and Green Day will be old news.
