when you weigh out the value of the car and the fact that they have to buy a whole new door, window and wing mirror (insurance companies used new/patent parts, second hand parts are not insurance approved) then they will class it as a write off, probably a cat D. You couldn't beat the door panel out because the dint extends to the swage lines of the door, especially the quite angled one at the top which would be immensely difficult to get out.
