i remember the thread you made and this is hilarious imo it's a joke get one with life and i thought you would be happy? You don't have to share your dad with anyone other than a lovely dog. If my dad got me a dog i would be happy. Besides what's wrong with fostering. They don't have any parents and you don't want to share one of your? selfish.

I haven't wanted to go for a long while because I thought he'd fostered & for another reason, but thats sort of really personal, and now I feel like I'm just gonna go back after all the nasty things he's said.

Your dad fostered (meaning adopted?) a dog and you thought it was a sister?

your dad sounds like a childish, insensitive man. you're right to be annoyed, it doesn't look as though he planned on telling you and even if he did weeks is a very long time to lie about something like that. it's playing with your emotions and he should have known better, if my dad did something like that to me i'd nevere trust him or take him seriously. don't listen to the people who tell you to get a sense of humour or get over it, if you can handle a lie like that then good for you but for some of us it means much more. i wouldn't ignore him or stop seeing him i'd just make sure he knew it annoyed me but i'm sure you'll find the funny side soon, no point baring a grudge over that
Agreed. It's funny for the others cos it hasn't happened to them but that's just one of the worst pranks I've ever heard of. However, what's done is done and the best thing you can do now Gibs is to move on and try to see the funny side (easier said than done though).

I agree with you.I'd be damn ANNOYED if dad ever do that.I mean come on? It might be funny to him and others but to me it's OTT.
but then just let him know how annoyed you are and just move on

Agreed. If my dad did that to me i would be annoyed like you, Gibs. For all those people telling you to take it as a joke - i think they need to get a grip on life because clearly that is not a funny joke.

And fostering generally is for couples without children, i wouldn't like sharing my life, home and family with someone i didn't even know. And that is in NO way selfish.

I don't agree with the people who are saying to lighten up, that it was a harmless joke. I'd be furious if one of my parents did that to me! You have a right to be angry. He should have told you sooner that he was joking.

Actually no, it's funny to me because i don't take life seriously. If this happened to me, i'd have more respect for my dad ebcause usually his jokes are ****. Gibs, please just grow up, even if you are only young. It's YOUR OWN FAULT. You made the decision not to go round and therefore you didn't realise it was a dog.

Don't you think it;s a tad selfish on your part to not even attempt to visit your dad just ebcause you thought he had a daughter. What if he did? You were just going to ignore him?

As far as he knew, you would come round soon and see a dog and be surprised, heck he probably thoguht it would be a good surprise. If you get so worked up over something like this, god help you in life.
