Its rude yeah. but something familiar to what I did today.
I rang 3 to change my debit details and it took me ages to get through and after 4 minutes of waiting, a none-fluent english speaker picked up so I hung up. Im just gonna visit the shop in town.

if you don't care how you speak to people, don't go around asking others if you think it was rude.
i wouldn't say it was rude, i'd say it was stupid, unfunny and unintelligent
now you can stop showing off xx

If they want a good company you dont put people who cant speak english on the telephone thats just ridiculous.

I agree with this, however I do think it's rude. If I was indian and you talked to me like that I'd be offended and most likely hang up on you so you had to join the holding queue all over again

I agree. I find it difficult to follow what they're saying. Like we rang Sky+ up the other month and he was Scottish and it sounded really different on the phone. He'd say something then me and my momma would be like..? there would be a 10 second pause till one of us bursted out laughing, breaking the silence.

well i'm sorry to say but i also find several english accents hard to understand, aswell as other scottish accents (yes - there's more than one scottish acccent!!!). i highly doubt the indian was given the job to speak on the phone if he wasn't capable of doing so, some people love to argue for the sake of arguing then show off about it on a forum.

They could have said, "I can't really understand you, sorry" but yeah I'd consider that rude.

Yes its rude. Overseas call centres aren't ideal but theres a lot of them around now so get used to it, he was only doing his job. You coulda just spoken to someone in the shop anyway, if you didnt like the bloke that was talking to you (though I dont think he would've been as rude as you've made out) you coulda just asked for someone else because he wasnt being helpful
