Thank goodness the Habbox Help Desk hasn't had a massive-blown-out-of-proportion event about Eurovision this year.. to be quite honest, I haven't heard much about it this year.

Hiya! I decided to pop on to give you my views about Eurovision this year. :p!

    Review of last night:

    The show in general:
Norwegian television have done the right thing in toning down the production and leaving off the LEDs for a year and going in a slightly smaller venue. The hosts were great, and the jokes in the green room were fab. Nadia was good at revealing the results and I think she will be good in the main voting on Saturday.

Paddy and Sarah got on my nerves so much.

    01 MOLDOVA
This song was one of my favourites to listen to before the show, although I've never quite worked out what the lyrics were. The choreographer needed shooting.

    02 RUSSIA
I really hated this song because it beat the singing grannies in the Russian national final and it wasn't that good anyway, but it was performed well and it sort of grew on me last night.

    03 ESTONIA
I loved this one, but it wasn't immediate enough for Eurovision. It took a good few weeks for this one to grow on me and it made me wish the UK were voting in last night's semi.

    04 SLOVAKIA
I think this song is a bit average, but it was performed well. It's a shame they didn't qualify because I doubt we'll be seeing them again next year. Slovakia's best position was 18th in the 1996 final.

    05 FINLAND
I cannot fathom how this failed to qualify. They loved it in the hall and I was at home doing the double clap along with it !

    06 LATVIA
The song was good and well performed, but I can see why it didn't qualify. The last thing you need when everything in the world's going a bit pear-shaped is a depressing song mentioning a mute uncle and crying mothers.

    07 SERBIA
Another one of my favourites! It's so singalongable. I was hop, hop, hop-ping along to this. It's a shame they decided to ditch the gangster milk maids used in the Serbian national final.

    08 BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
I liked this one. He didn't perform it too well in the reveal show they held, so he was a big shock at the rehearsals last week and was a well-deserved qualifier.

    09 POLAND
I never really liked this one. It was one of the most peculiar things I'd ever come across. You don't get votes by holding a woman in a headlock.

    10 BELGIUM
Finally, Belgium got into the final! After years of day-glo orange women, imaginary languages and goodness knows what else they proved that the simple songs can work the best!

    11 MALTA
It was a very average ballad and the wings were just creepy. There's now a 'No Thea, No Vote' campaign meaning we might get 12 points from Malta out of protest again like in 2007 !

    12 ALBANIA
This one is amazing! Ever since the song was selected in December, I knew it would do well. It's very modern and Juliana has a terrific voice.

    13 GREECE
A bit of a random one. It was the best of a bad bunch in the scandal-filled Greek national final.

    14 PORTUGAL
This one is really boring, but she did her country proud so good on her!

15 MACEDONIA (FYR if you must)
    Horrific. Definite last place

    16 BELARUS
I genuinely wasn't expecting this to qualify and I squealed with joy when the wings came out... Even if I had seen their performances before.

    17 ICELAND
A fan favourite which was destined to qualify. Hera's a good singer having participated as a backing singer in 2008 and 2009.

    AUTOMATIC FINALISTS

    02 SPAIN
A nice waltzy song, but with its running order position and the fact it's not that catchy it probably won't do well.

    03 NORWAY
An amazing epic ballad which is sure to get a jury vote. I like it lots!

    12 UNITED KINGDOM
    Bobbins.

    18 FRANCE
This doubles up as the official French World Cup song. It's good, but it won't do well.

    22 GERMANY
It's quite good, but I doubt it'll win.

I'll do a review of SF2 on Friday. The ones to watch out for tomorrow are Azerbaijan and Israel.

lol the year's gone so fast. Looked in the tele mag and it says "Next week: Eurovision". Seems like only yesterday I was laughing at Jade getting whacked by a violin. :p Maybe cos we didn't have a 5-month thread on the subject made me completely forget about it.

As for our song, I dont think it's that bad but definitely not going to get a good position like last year.
LOL martin, i watched germany's cos you liked it and she should win on the accent alone.

I'm forced to watch it, but I guess I don't mind it. I'd rather just watch the final though.
