I use Sam 3 but many DJ's use Sam 2. It depends on the person.

I don't think there are many major differences, just the UI is tweaked a little in Sam3 compared to Sam2. Sam3 is a lot closer to what Sam 4 is, so if you like Sam4, get Sam3.
