it's illegal for learners to drive on the motorway. sure it wasn't a dual carriageway?

oh believe me, I had my first lesson a few weeks back and I was the same. I'm now on my 8th driving on dual carriageways and turning right at traffic lights. you just adapt to all the new things and it just becomes automatic to you, like clutch control, changing gears.

It depends on your driving instructor. My instructor took me on a long straightish road and just worked on the gears.

    You should only be doing:
    - Stating & Stopping
    - The biting point
    - Clutch Control
    - Gears 1 - 3
    - Reverse in a straight line
    - Mirrors

Don't worry about crashing the car. Your instructor will have control over the car too
Same as what Jack said and you'll probs have to look in all three mirrors and your 2 blind spots before you pull off and look in all 3 mirrors before indercating (Can't spell) and if you want to impress the driving instructor, then when you pull off from traffic lights, remember to have the car in 1st gear and push the gas pedal down slowly while lifting the clutch pedal up.

I've only crashed into the curb once (well bumped into it lol) and that's only because a chav was right up my back side.
