I'm not denying it. But the way Apple were showing other smartphones having the so called "same issue as the iPhone 4" is not correct. iPhone 4 when you cover that area of the phone, the signal goes and you have issues calling people/loading internet pages. The way Apple shown does not affect how people on Android text/call/load internet pages, as actually there is still signal.

Meaning Apple saying "other phones have the same issue" is not correct in that sense. Yes the signal drops but they didn't show they had problems such as drop calls/loading internet pages etc etc etc. They just shown the strength going down...

What are you meant to do if you've bought a different case and how do you go about getting one?
Not on purpose, that's a user problem with idiots being too violent with them. An Apple equivilent would be someone chucking an iPhone at a TV, or more realistic, someone blaming Apple for them (the individual) dropping it on the floor. So your comparison doesn't really work.

*squeezes Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 running Android 1.6* Nope, nothing. Where are your sources? Non-existent? Try again, you've said this before and got proven wrong

Well, it is.. Like I said in another thread, I'm not affected by it because I don't hold it in such a way that disturbs the signal. So it is user error. Not everyone threw the wiimote at the tv but they offered it to everyone when it became apparent people were actually doing it, and having problems.. Just like apple. Only apple seem to have a turn around of 20 something days whereas nintendo corrected it after months.

So your saying holding the iPhone 4 like you would with any other phone in your left hand is a user problem? :S

I would say it's preventable by the user but because the user has to go out of his or her way to do it is absurd.

My Nexus One loses service when I hold it in my left hand, but I have to be gripping it pretty intensely. I don't think it helps that I live in Canada and so my closest radio tower is very far away anyhow (I do not get full coverage in my home).

I read on Engadget that Apple's giving out some sort of free bumper / case or something. Ah well--it's better than nothing I suppose, for those poor folks who are locked in on their 3 year contracts.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

That was Apple's first comment regarding it. It isn't an issue and hold it different, but that's how you hold phones in your left hand near your ear and whatever else. What is the need of "changing" that just for one phone. Yes, the user can change how they hold it but they shouldn't have to and Apple should of realized that but hey, you get a free case.

Also on your Nexus one, do you get the "X" on the signal?

I'm saying that holding it in your left hand in a specific way and squeezing is a user problem. Does it affect everyone? No. Because I hasn't affected me. Therefore, it is only specific to some users..

Why are you pushing the part about it actually having an 'x' or saying no service? It depends where you are. If you're in a city with great signal, it doesn't go all the way down to nothing. They said that the formula to calculate it was wrong anyway.

I'm talking about his Android phone which works different to the iPhone? :S

"Android has "5" levels of these bars, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 bars, we still have signal at 0, we don't have any when it turns to an X."

Hence me asking if he ever gets the "X".

Yes but it was obvious what you were getting at.. You were going for the 'iPhone drops the signal all the way down but it doesn't happen in other phones' argument. As I said, it depends what your signal is like in the first place. Mine for example, is crap in my area, and so it'll say no service. But in others, if you squeeze tight, it might only drop 3 bars

I wanted to see what he meant by "no service" as he might mean just no bars or even the X on the phone. We all know that Apple didn't fully explain the "Testing other mobile phones" correctly.
