Someone else has just tried it on me again but with the amount of 5HC instead. I asked which fansite to see if it was the same one but he decided to log off.

Someone tried this earlier in my casino. First he tried buttering me up because I refused to take a throne, then saying "oh you must be safe then "... then told me to vote for him and he'd bet me 20 HC.

I did a bit of research, this scam might be a form of click jacking,

An example would be, a button which says 'Enter Site Here', but when clicking that button you are actually sending all your details, the button is just a cover

You can't always mistake things like this for dangerous sites even though it has to be said that you should never visit any sites you do not know are safe when people tell you to. In this case I think they may of just wanted you to vote but then would obviously never end up giving you anything, let alone a throne! But I think you are probably right, chances are it was a dangerous site designed to steal your account.
