good offline games

Fallout 3 is alright, but I don't get the massive hype about it in all honesty, it's nothing special.
One game everyone needs in their life is Alan Wake. **** it's just such an amazing game

Serverly Over hyped and for 5 years in the making it doesn't stand up to other games.

I'm not saying it's a bad game by any means, but after wishing it would come out every year for 5 years when it finally does come out it was like ...... let down -.-

I never like kept up with development of it, so I guess I didn't' have anything to be let down by. I literally only borrowed it from my friend to get the gamerscore (sad) and I ended up getting completely immersed in it, it's the first game I'm actually going to get DLC for

But my advice would be wait (if you can) untill Christmas. With games such as Fable 3 and Fallout New vegas it should be a really good year.

Story line wise the best about are easily the:
Mass effect series
Half life series (The Orange Box)
Gears of War series

All of the above have epic storyline however if you want single RPG like games i'd recommend

Oblivion
Fallout 3
Fable 2
Dragon Age Origins
