but see the socket on the tv (first image) i only have one of them but I have 2 adapaters one for the xbox and one for the programs (virgin) so I need some sort of device to connect both of them into the connect the device into the tv so both of the adapters work at the same time

You can get scart splitters pretty cheap, most require you to turn off everything but the device you want (else you'll get a blurry mess on your screen).This!

If you want to plug your xbox in with the cable you showed you will need an AV (red/white/yellow plugs) to Scart adapter (they're really cheap, you should have a grey one with your xbox if you got it new).

You cant get the to work at the same time, the port can only recieve one image at a time.This!

Well no, because just say you have 5 devices - they call all be plugged in at once. I used to use one on my old TV where there was only one scart socket available so I could have the xbox and such all attached at once.
