Damn, I wish I'd paid £900 extra in my first year to not drive when I wanted to... seriously what the hell kind of deal is that? And lol@having a 2010 car that already has problems you didn't know about

I know double bummed or what.
Seems like you are paying rather a lot, especially with your hours of driving being limited as well.
My car did not have problems when delivered from the factory. Is was a small problem when the dealer fitted after-market products to my car which has since been sorted.
At the end of the say you can all complain all you want BUT your not driving under them terms and it doesnt affect you so why complain? If you dont like it then dont buy it!, simple.
I am not told when i can drive either... i can easily drive if i want to between 11pm-5am but i have to pay £45 if i do. Plus in my circumstances there is no need for myself to and if i did want to go out then i have the use of another car so it does not affect me one bit.
why would the dealer fit aftermarket products to their own cars? 'the design of the car is very good, but i think that it'll sell much better if we put a steering wheel cover on.'
what engine is your car anyway? I still think you're getting shafted with this insurance, especially with the £45 extra you have to pay if you stay up late.
i'm the star in the reasonably priced car!
They wont let you off the fee if you drive in the 'red hours' but you're still insured. It seems like a good idea if you're not an avid late night/early morning driver.
I'm absolutely bewildered by this insurance company... you said in another thread that it's still nearly £2,500 a year with the tracker fitted, and not being allowed to travel at night? This is ridiculous, I've never heard the like. I'd understand if it brought your premiums down in the range of about a grand a year but that's just preposterous.
I could not get an insurance quote for less than £4100 and therefore i decided to go with Ikube instead as i saved quite alot of money.
My car has a 1349cc engine (1.3) and the after market product that caused the problem was a bluetooth handsfree kits with ipod dock. It simply wasnt secured down properly and thus everytime i went over a bump in the road the radio would cut out because the unit was wired into the radio.
The bluetooth kit was in the manufacturers spec of the car but had to be dealer fitted. (because only 30 or so special editions were made)
The insurance will be getting ditched next year anyway but i dont need to drive past 11pm and if i did i could simply use my mothers car as im insured on that.
