I know what I'm talking about . And I know of many people on a music related forum with expensive systems that can't really hear a difference either.

I implore you to a proper, blind test. There's an excellent plug-in for foobar2000 for doing it.

We have a fairly decent system in our house and I have some good IEMs but I can't tell the difference between 320kbps MP3s and FLAC tbh. Not worth the extra space.

I saw the name of the thread and your number underneath it and assumed this was a coming out thread

Surely the quality of the MP3 music depends on whatever hardware is decoding it (if that makes sense)? Like X-Fi which is a Creative creation on both hardware and software, or whatever Logitech use and so forth? It's not like .wma and .mp3 are crap anyway, they've served well enough as it is. I can't see how the increase in file size by ten fold really justifies it, if there isn't that much difference :/

Tube amps suck ass IMO, Valves weren't meant for the kind of thing they are put through generally today.

I'm like you I have to say. I'm a sucker for differentiating between audio quality - unless it's miserably bad.

My brother rants for days about how tubes are superior to electric. I have absolutely no idea what's better than what to be quite honest
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
