What why would you ever do that instead of just clicking their username on a post or whatever

Im confused. You mean tagging people would give a link to their profile or notify them they've been tagged? If the latter, I'd love you forever and say YES PLS. if the former, I don't think it'd really help competitions that much but may be helpful for other things.

Notifications for it would suck harder than Garion on rich old men, I can't think of much (other than fat people) that would be more annoying on here
