I was 12. Parents told me in the car on the way home from school as it had just happened.

I was probably in school being a year 3 so I was like 8 years old so I don't think my mum and dad told me to be honest.

Quite odd how we can remember such things. So can you remember it.. and if so.. where were you?
    its called flashbulb memory

i just got home from school - first thing i did was watch it and try to get in touch with my uncle who i thought lived near there, but he lives in las vegas.

I was 7 so I would have been in year 2 or 3 at the time, I remember being babysat at by old babysitters house and then seeing it on the tv with the announcments. It's weird how i remember that and not other stuff.

i was 12 in 6th grade, our math teacher told us while we were in class a couple hours after it happened. he said he wasnt sure if anyone died or who did it or anything like that (however, looking back on it, he must have OBVIOUSLY known at least hundreds of people died, since he told us at least an hour or two after the towers fell, he probably didnt want to scare us) and i had to really find out what happened when i saw my parents at home (they were let out of work early because of the attacks) and watched tv.

i was old enough to understand that it was a major catastrophe and that an incredible amount of people died, but i didnt understand the politics or implications of it. it was the first time i'd ever heard anything about muslims/islam.
