I don't really like that attitude to be honest, it's got far better as it goes on. Admittedly I won't be upgrading from 2010 to 2011 as it removes features but both WLM and Hotmail have got progressively much better on the whole. I remember a time in about 2003 when you could only store a few MB of emails and 150 contacts on MSN, they really weren't the "good ol' days".

I wont say it was better back then than it is now, but I will say that going to that link brought a smile to my face because of all the memories I had of using that now historic site
