You don't have to know about Lionel Messi to be a sports fan.

Not everyone follows football, and the section is about sport, not just football.

I saw the post, it was posted in a thread regarding who is better, Ronaldo or Messi. What did I do? Logged out. Why? Well surely it's a pointless post but the moderation team here wont regard it as so. If you're posting in a subject comparing two things then surely you must know about the two things in question to form a reasonable response which would add to the discussion otherwise you're not comparing two things, you're selecting one because you've not heard of the other therefore no comparison occurred which equals a pointless post.

I know where the point about Messi is coming from, but some people are saying that 'if you don't know who messi is, why are you in this section' kinda thing, which is offensive to those who are maybe looking at the F1 threads or similar, not the football side of things.

I have to laugh, the old forum management stood by the decision to hire Apple even though it's clear he didn't pass the two month rule. It's amusing how he's only picked up on the pointless post and not the other part. Felt the need to post, it'll amuse me more when he comes crawling back and edits again once he's asked about the post.
