Also, choosing Mac because of viruses is stupider than stupid. It has the worst security out of most OSs, it's always the first to be hacked at hacking conferences and currently has only security through obscurity. Soon macs will hit critical mass and people will write FAR more viruses for mac and because there's no Mac AV they'll be effective.

Photoshop was originally designed for PC and then ported to Mac so rly PC should be +1 on that one but hey ho!

Really? You know what I never understood? A few years ago people used to say Macs are better for designers. I have owned my iMac for two years and to this day see no truth to this

Can't beat Final Cut Pro for pro video editing I suppose

To be fair, that depends how careless you are (with regards to viruses) and you could probably get a PC and waste money on photoshop and be better off than the Mac and the photo program that comes pre-packaged. Depends what photography you do though, if it's light touching up then you won't need alot, but if you're doing alot of heavy photo editing, then photoshop on either a Mac or a PC would be a wiser option.

To be honest, the Mac's interface is a lot more glamourous and smooth than Windows 7. Text rendering (on large fonts) is generally more beautiful, although readability on tiny fonts is pretty difficult.

Also, my Macbook Pro that I'm on at the moment has a 78% battery health and is still going strong after 2 years, whereas my dell 17" studio is an unusable brick after 2 years.

Also, dropping my dell just once from a low height broke the screen, whereas the aluminium mac has taken a serious beating.

When people say macs are ridiculously over priced, it's not really that bad anymore - a 27" iMac made of solid metal and all the guts in the screen is more expensive, but of better quality and longer-lasting than a cheap plastic tower with a cheap plastic monitor.

Also, generally speaking the image quality of a mac display is so much better than most monitors.

You can't expect a laptop to stay intact when dropping it, sure it's nice when it does but Mac or Windows screens are fragile. Also, my Dell which I have abused so much to this day still works after three and a half years.

But of better quality and longer-lasting than a cheap plastic tower with a cheap plastic monitor.

My three year old plastic monitor and tower still works very fast tyvm. The metal edging doesn't make it work any better and does not prevent it from breaking.

I see no difference for Photoshop and Text Rendering on the Mac is a result of displaying the font wrong. The Windows 7 interface far surpasses that of Mac OSX, I cannot live without Aero snap any more.

Hardly, I doubt that a computer made of solid metal works very well and is probably lethal if a wire becomes loose.

Agree with this, couldn't of said it any better. It's great to be able to use my mac as a monitor for my PS3 (albeit you have to buy an adapter). Extremely clear screen in HD so makes a perfect gaming screen.

I've got a Mac and a PC and my intention was firstly to switch to the Mac because of the positive reviews I have read about it. I promptly didn't like it and switched back to my older PC after a few days. Don't get me wrong, I like the Mac but I find for general use and multitasking I much prefer the PC.

In a nutshell, get a Mac if you want to use applications only available for the mac like Final Cut (although I prefer Sony Vegas. I've tried Final Cut and don't find it intuitive at all) but if you use your computer for multiple things at once, go for the PC. Also, Windows 7 Media Center is pretty awesome as a DVR.
