    The loss of the fire brigade is unlikely to cause avoidable deaths. If a bonfire gets out of control then children should be able to get to a safe distance long before a fire engine could arrive, if they could not get out of the way then the fire brigade wouldn't be able to help by the time they arrive anyway. There will actually be very few casualties caused by the loss of the fire Brigade, mostly just fire damage to property.

    The fireworks generally make a nice loud noise to wake you up, slightly more effective than a smoke detector don't you think?
