This happens to me too! When ever I'm at home in London I talk so laid back and I can basically talk as baaaad as I wish, but if I go like outside of London, I have to try and make myself look like I wasn't brought up living out of a bin (the accent makes me sound uneducated).

Feel the same way pal. I have a typical south London accent, which is fine when I'm out for a curry with mates. But nip over to Chelsea or a place outside of London, I have to pretend I was born out of a gold plated *REMOVED*.

Nowadays I don't care as much, because it is who I am. I change my way of acting so it fits my surroundings, but my voice stays the same, plus I don't live there any more

This really. I'm more loud when I'm with my family and close friends but really shy around anyone else.

    omg this is my life
when i meet new people or talk to people from other places i have to try speak english but they still don't understand my accent & yeah there ARE different accents/dialect in Scotland not just the stereotypical glasweigan one.

also i am different depending the situation or who i'm with, long term friends & all my family i am just myself but people i don't know much or haven't known long i don't act much myself or they would think i'm cray cray ;[
