Eggnog?

I've heard of it through various references but never had / seen it. What actually is it?

Wiki says:

Eggnog, also known as egg nog, is a sweetened dairy-based beverage made with milk and/or cream, sugar and beaten eggs (which gives it a frothy texture), and flavoured with ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Various liquors, such as brandy, rum, whiskey, advocaat and/or liqueurs, are often added.

Sounds quite sickly actually.

I'm not sure if the sort I'm accustomed to drinking is made with real eggs, I know a lot of people make their own and homemande eggnog can be pretty good too.

It tastes delicious, I urge everyone who's never tried it to have a glass.

Never tried it, but knew what it was. I just saw it as a legal "alcoholic" beverage served at Christmas to anyone in the family (at least which cartoons always portray with drunken characters ) Not sure I'd like it though, doesn't sound too pleasant and may be an acquired taste, like how different the chocolate is between the UK and the US.

I don't like it very much! I tried it for the first time last Christmas. It's okay I suppose, but it's also very unhealthy and being the health nut I usually am, I try not to drink too much. I think it's definitely an acquired taste, it got a bit better after I had it a couple times. I actually put it in my coffee once last year wasn't bad tbh! if you're scared about it, put it in some coffee!

I've never tried eggnog, but I certainly have heard of it and it sounds very sickly indeed! Maybe something I would like to try over christmas though.
