but I'm too god damn lazy to change any of it.
I feel very much the same way, I don't live in a particularly good/bad place and sometimes I just feel lucky to have ended up here. Of course it could be improved but compared to most people in the World it's a very nice place to live and I've done nothing to achieve this. That sounds all very charitable of me etc but I really am grateful for where I was born and I really do try to appreciate it.

EVERYTHING.. in my view we don't stand for anything but disgrace. that's maybe too extreme and rude but it's really how i see it.
Obviously there are some major problems with the government and that is all subjective so I won't get into that, but what is wrong with education and the health services especially? We get free health care and the University of Cambridge is currently the best university in the world according to the QS World University Rankings with Oxford and UCL not far behind. Yes, there are some real **** schools in this country, but I think it's the same in most countries to be honest. Not really sure what you mean by the diet? Surely that is up to the individual, not the country. Surprised you hate our culture though. I think along with Japan we have one of the most interesting cultures in the world, but again that's all subjective so fair enough.

Yeah i feel the same, i live in the same i live in probally the richest areas in south london, Eltham to be procise, we mix it up with a few celebrities, such as christian, Heather and the Old lauren from eastenders and a few coca cola championship football players, I mean there are The Rich parts to eltham, and there are the middle class parts, and the Deprived parts, i live in the Middle class parts, I live in the middle class parts which means we get the clash between the rich and the poor, and the deprived areas and normally full off milwall hooligans and hood rats who just ruin the area, and the upper class parts are just full of s**** who look down on you, so im kind of stuck in the middle!

If anything I'm the opposite. Like, people who were brought up with not much money like myself, don't really get high grades like me and my brother. I'm sooo proud of my brother for the grades he's getting and I love my mum for bringing me up right.

I live in quite an expensive area but my mum struggles to pay the mortgage. So generally I'm grateful for the people around me for bringing me up right and I'm grateful that I'm sort of "clever", if I can say that, lol.

i love living in england - i hate my district
the education is appalling, the people are moronic and i just feel like i'm superior to everyone around me, lol. i actually can't tolerate the people around here, 90% of them are brain-dead, i swear.
i'd give anything to move back to where i used to live.

Where I live is horrible, but I've been given every possible opportunity by my parents which I'll be eternally grateful for, however the standard of education and the like here is horrible. A lot of the people I know that went to my secondary school have dropped out of college already and are just doing menial jobs such as working in shops etc. with no real prospects. I sort of feel sorry for them in a way, not that I want to sound superior or anything.

My secondary school has something like a 28% GCSE pass rate and was almost put in special measures by OFSTED. My family struggled with various things from when I was about age 8-15 but luckily everythings sorted now and, as I said before, my parents have always put me and my sister before anything else and so luckily I'm on track to do what I've always wanted to do at university in a subject I've loved since I can remember.

The area itself, however, has no opportunities for anything whatsoever apart from maybe drug dealing.

My area is nice in the sense I love the fact its a victorian area with big houses, large mature trees - aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand like most other places, the small things such as bad roads and pavements coupled with rubbish everywhere just ruins it and gets you down that is has to be that way. If you go down the road though on the other side, it turns into a basic scumsville and its the same for the other way down the road - very sad when you think back to the areas previous history of being a respectable working class area.

But as we all know, the working class basically gave way to the new 'underclass'.

The problems with the British education system are expansive, from dumbed down subjects to teachers in state schools working half the time as social workers. Don't get me wrong, I love my school - but in terms of education it is poor just like most state schools in this country. If you think to China (a rising nation) it's children will be learning the solid subjects of Maths, English, History, the Sciences and so on - whilst our education system offers the likes of media, travel & tourism and a dumbed down timetable (they were even speaking of mothballing History). With those prospects, we do not stand a chance.

Our culture on the other hand is slowly being eroded, England and later Great Britain was the founder of liberty and yet we've had so much of it taken away from us and because so many people know little of their own history they do not jump to defend it when it is under threat (the European Union, the erosion of traditional English law, innocent until proven guilty, small state etc).

From a personal point I just feel sad for this country and I do hope we can turn it around, it has been done before and can be done again.

your tutor sounds like a douche, if you want it then go for it. don't think you've failed before you've even tried it because then if you do give it a go and you don't manage to get where you want to go at least you can say you tried. sure it may be quite a long shot, but it's not impossible... what are we without ambition?
