    I'm insured for $1500 on an 08' Range Rover 4.2 supercharged V8.

I'm £1400 a year on an Admiral Multicar policy with my mum's 1.8 Vauxhall Zafira and my dad's Seat Ibiza Bocanegra on the policy too, I'm 17 (18 in about 4 weeks) with 1 years no claims and a clean license, on a 2003 Clio 1.2 16v.

I'm getting a new Clio 1.2 TCE and it's only an extra £34 a year insurance, and it has 25 more bhp and an insurance group higher.

Compare sites are actually pretty rubbish because a lot of the better companies (Direct Line and Churchill I know for sure) don't list with them so you won't get their quotes. I've been with Churchill for 3 years and even my 1st year fully comp on my own name was £1400, which I thought was a huge amount but seeing what some of you lot are paying seems like nothing. I have a 1.4 Clio if that's useful for reference

It's best to go on your own name to build up no claims bonus, but there are some companies which will let you get that even on your parents' insurance which is good because then you have cheaper payments AND will get better discounts in future if you don't claim

Also ignore Ash he lives in America they pay peanuts for insurance

erm, my first year was with quinn and was just under 1k
have you tried putting some other drivers onto your insurance who have been driving a while? i put my mom and dad on and that brought it down quite a bit

mine is also on a 2001 smart car
    awesome choice, by the way
