It is still not permitted in the "Fansite Way" outlined on the group page (http://www.habbo.com/groups/fansites).
    HABBO FANSITES MUST NOT:
    * Offer Hacking, Scripting or Editing Programs.
    * Publish any unreleased news regarding updates, new furni or features without Sulake's prior permission.
    * Ask visitors for their Habbo passwords or personal information such as telephone numbers or home address.
    * Charge users for premium services such as VIP access.
    * Act as an affiliate for a commercial entity, nor offer merchandise (including Habbo furni) or services for sale.
    * Offer to buy, sell or trade Habbo accounts for real money or Habbo Credits.
    * Break the law or talk others into breaking it.
    * Publish any material which may be offensive to other users or contains sexual content.
    * Publish any personal information, pictures, video or documents belonging to Sulake Corporation Oy or its employees.
    * Use slander or any other form of bullying in order to harass other people.
    * Disrupt the operation of any other fansite nor disrupt the Hotel community.
    * Replicate any part of the Habbo Hotel service ('Retro' Hotels, Habbo Home clones etc).
    * Operate a Radio service that broadcasts music illegally.
    * Represent that your site is approved by or affiliated with Sulake Corporation Oy or that any other content on your site is approved by or affiliated with Sulake Corporation Oy.
I don't see the point in having discussions where people are just saying break the rules they wont care, because they will. It's not worth risking it all, and I'm sure Habbox Management wouldn't do something as foolish. Habbo is definietly moving away from fansites and would no doubt (in my eyes) love to chuck a few names off the list for rule breaking.

Being official or not official, we would still have to follow the same rules or Sulake could do a lot more to make sure we did follow them. If they wanted to do that and be harsh if we actually sold VIP right now out of the blue without even asking them.

And you really believe Sulake would do anything to you? If it wasn't fo Habbox I for one with have stopped playing Habbo two/three years before I did (and in the first year, I was still buying habbo credits through them). They would be making a massive mistake to do anything to you.

I'm not Sulake, they can do what they please. If they didn't really care about the fansites then I suppose they would If they really didn't like what we did. But is it worth the risk?

People reaching the level "Habbox God" have all or most of the permissions that VIPs have if I recall correctly (certainly they can view who's repped them at least) so technically all other members could have those features and if that's the wording then we wouldn't be going against Sulake policy *+*struts through loophole*+*

I still think if we want to have VIP we should implement it as buying a raffle ticket which has the chance to win VIP for whatever the price of VIP is meant to be, but have it so that every ticket is a winner. This is 100% legal even if Sulake enforce their no VIP sale rules - it's a trick that many events like school fayres and such use in order to "sell" a beer to the dads without an alcohol licence

Near enough everyone who comes here does so from Habbo, so it's not like we're producing a new era of Habbo users I don't think the possible revenue loss from Hx going down would do anything significant to a company like Sulake

We recieved an email from Sulake yesterday clarifying some of these rules, it's the same as we've heard before:

You may not sell anything to your users, however you may reward donations with aesthetic privelidges only which we class as name colour and signature sizes
They did however inform us that the fansite rules will be under scrutiny in the next few months and changes may occur.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see then. At least they're bothering to go over them, it's nice to know they're going to be involving fansites again like they did a few years ago

Lets hope they actually use some common sense.

I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to sell VIP? I mean yes - it's useful to have it for prizes - but if you could sell it surely a lot of people would buy it?

It's not like Sulake are losing out.
