Lady Gaga, Rihanna & Ellie Goulding were the girls of 2010.
Jessie J is currently leading the race for 2011

Tinie Tempah and Bruno Mars' year was 2010
2011 guys....haven't really been able to judge yet.

2010 was deffoooooo Katy's year for me. TD was huge as an album and all three main singles did tremendously well. After her first album I'd kind of forgotten my love for her but even after the first single I was back into my obsession h3jewnjde. Rihanna's had a fantastic year as well, I think Rude Boy was released in 2010 and that did well, as well as obviously the new singles from Loud.

So far this year, for me personally it's been Jessie J but I think Adele's doing really well atm . With Gaga & Britney's new albums coming soon I suspect they'll have some good years too .

ohh well if this is about personal tastes then whatever. i'm not that into adele's music but she has had the most success so far this year (in the UK at least). the two singles released so far from her album this year have got to number 2 and number 1, and currently her latest album is spending its fifth (fourth?) week at the top of the album chart, with her debut climbing up to number two at the same time, which hasn't been done by a living artist since the beatles. her sales are ridiculous are as well i don't have a figure off the top of my head.

EDIT: here we go, five weeks straight at number one since its release, over 900,000 sales so far which is 3x platinum ;l;l;l

also i read something crazy the other day that in the netherlands, every 1 in 600 or so people bought adele's album on the first week it ame out not sure how accurate that is but woah

1 in 600 doesn't actually sound a lot..? i guess it depends on their population and density.
