My voice broke ages ago (i'm 19 now) and that happens to me, I seem to get a pain in my throat/tongue, but thats just when i've got a sore throat or i've spoke for to long.
Best way to see if your voice has broke is to ask someone who is use to your voice and ask them if it's changed. Also your testicles should of dropped and thats an indication of your voice breaking (not the case for all males)

Your testicles technically drop just before you are born, if you can feel your testicles and there is two of them, then they have dropped. As I said it's highly unlikely you'll wake up one day and notice your voice is ten times stronger. It normally gradually takes effect, I wouldn't jump to conclusions the sign of a sore throat doesn't necessarily mean you are starting puberty. Give it time and let nature take its course.
