    You're entitled to your opinion, but yes, I disagree, as would a lot of people. The film is looked down on, as is its director, Roland Emmerich., who is widely considered to be a Michael Bay-grade hack.

    Misawa i'm not sure what you mean by looked down upon by many, from my understanding Independence day is considered as one of the greats and a true classic.

    Then you have indeed misunderstood, sorry. Still, it has what could be defined as two classic scenes, but you'd be extremely hard-pressed to find anyone who regards it as an "all-time great".

    I saw the movie last week. It was the best movie i've seen in my life ! Filled with action
    gotta admit, it scared the crap out of me . -.-

    I've got to agree with misawa, i saw it last week. and alough i thoroughly enjoyed it as a cinema flick and enjoyed the story.

    It was no where near a classic or the best i've seen in my life.

    However i would recommend it to anyone who was curious about watching it
