Hmm is there any way to make the default setting (for unregistered users/unlogged in people etc) that only Habbo news displays in the front page. I kinda agree with Scott that really you would expect to see habbo news on a habbo fansite if it's your first visit and you dont know how to customise/dont want to register etc. It just makes it feel more like a habbo fansite I think. It's nothing major, but thats the way it was always done as to ensure that there is always habbo content/news on teh front page, since if you have a run of real life news that's it all filled.

wd to everyone involved in v6, it really is great

I agree, it's a little pointless to register to move things around. Also it's a little confusing, I registered and thought the only additional features where "change password" and "logout".

    yeah

& I don't think the "DJ: Ice" should be taken from the booked slot but rather the stream title of the DJ, if people are double DJing then they can't have both of their names on the stream title. Or if someone was covering then it would show the person who was booked habbo & dj name which will get rather confusing for listeners and staff as well.

Registered members can post comments on rare values (as Scott has pointed out, towards my comments) and news. Also they're able to customize their homepage's widgets.

I've changed it to fish out the DJ name from the stream title. It's a shame though because to compensate for this alerts wont popup when the next DJ is coming on air. We will be looking for a better solution to this that works more nicely with scheduling.

Can you not take the next dj alert from the timetable as well?

Isn't that what it was but if someone is covering then it would show the DJ who actually booked that slot. Unless that slot gets changed to the correct DJ surely?

Normally we don't tend to know if someone is covering until the slot anyway so it's always planned that the DJ that is booked is going to be on. If we know in advanced that a DJ isn't going to make it then we will unbook their slot and let the DJ that's going on instead cover and book. It's the way it is on the hxl site atm it still grabs the habbo from the timetable but the stream title says who the actual DJ is anyway

Those saying there arent many features for registered members, please - remember this is the first beta release. As we've said time and time again this is a basic release and more will be added over time - features are going to be added to this site which will make it worth being registered.

Richie, your first post says this has been "designed" for over a year - that's bull ****, this site was designed in December/January - the specification released in October. That's not a year.

I think for an early beta release this is excellent, originally we weren't planning to release V6 until the latter end of next week but due to the Hx.com backups being corrupted we had to go with an early release, considering David has pretty much coded this single handedly I think it's damn impressive and I can't tell him what a brilliant job he's done. I remember working with him on the most basic of v6 designs in December/January and if I showed you some of the images you would be so shocked at the difference from what we had then to what's been released now, it's absolutely phenomenal. This site won't just be easier for users either, it's 100x more easier for staff with a more advanced yet more simple Habbox Today system, Habbox Jobs system, News System & Rare Values system.

Although you guys may think this beta release is quite simple to what you were expecting, this site will revolutionise Habbox and looking at the plans for V6 when it comes into more stable versions, this will be a site that provides things that no other Habbo fansite can - which is our ultimate aim at the end of the day.

Scott - you seem to be moaning an awful lot about HxL, get over it - HxL hasn't merged with Hx.com yet and when we do merge it will be a lot different, there'll practically be a setting where you can click "habboxlive" and your homepage will be set to suit HxL only. Stop being selfish towards one department, at the moment V6 is there to cover all departments and the widget list is good, however I did say this to David the other week - I think the competitions widget should be default also.

The comments about Habbo news being the default too - this should have also been the case, it was mentioned in a meeting the other day however it may have been missed as obviously this was an emergency early release, but yes - Habbo news should be the default and rl news or the "all news" widget should be all.

There's still a lot of work to do, as it's an emergency release our priority is getting staff used to it, then we need to advance stuff like the navigation and then further releases will add more features etc, from what I know more things should be added on quite a frequent basis - it's an ongoing project. If we had released it as one, all singing all dancing site not tested by the masses then let's face it it would flop on it's face, this way we can have the all new system (the back end system was coded just for habbox too, nobody else has this system) tested by the masses and then add more to it as we know it's stable. If we tried to make a seriously impressive site for first release and it flopped (which it would if we tried) you'd all be pissing yourselves at everything.

I cannot thank David enough for the work he's done on this site and seriously, just watch out for what's coming because it's gonna be impressive for a Habbo fansite.

I don't think that many people would be aware of what extra features they get when being registered so won't bother to register. I quite like it, what I like most of all is the new rare values layouts with the graphics etc. that's great. Of course, real life news shouldn't be there on the homepage, I'd only ever expect Habbo news, unless of course it was a massive real life news article.

You could also add more widgets on the side such as competitions and maybe even a twitter feed (seeing as everyone is going into the 21st century) and what not as there is still space on the side that you could fill there. It's not the absolute most 'WOW' layout I've seen out there, but a step up from what was there previously with Joomla.
