Firefox four released.

Used to use FF, now use Chrome. FF is just slow/laggy/ugly/old compared to Chrome imo.

Firefox needs to move on with the times, Chrome doesn't require a reboot!

While I use Chrome now and used to use Firefox, I think that is a bit of a strange reason to not use it.

I had massive problems with Firefox freezing due to random script errors 99 percent of the time and that's the reason I moved to Chrome. It was taking 10 minutes to just check if I had any new emails, nevermind actually reading them.

However the one thing Chrome has yet to beat, is the add-ons. Yeah they aren't needed, but there where some handy add-ons, such as DownThemAll and others. Chrome is great, but Firefox's Add-Ons still rock.

The fact they haven't made it so addons don't require you to reload the browser means they haven't made many changes in terms of how the browser performs.

With Chrome, it uses separate processors for everything, so all it needs to do is create a new process for the extension and you don't have need to reload the browser. Whereas firefox loads the addon with the browser, meaning that the load-up time is longer, if an addon fails then the whole browser will fail.

Yeah I stayed with FF3 for the extensions, then I realised I didn't really need them and the one's I did need were readily available on Chrome.

Recently made the jump to Chrome and there's no chance of me even taking a look at FF4. Chrome is so much simpler, faster and reliable. Then of course there's thing like auto-syncing, auto-updating and best of all, built-in flash player. I remember at the time of FF3 release it was all the craze in Technology Discussion with a countdown and all, barely anyone cares these days

But a lot still complain Chrome has bad add-ons and so on. Yeah they might need a reboot but they still are a lot better.

Microsoft's 2.4 million downloads on release day may want to suck on this massively increasing counter. http://glow.mozilla.org/ Glad they finally put 4 out there for general release, wipes the slate clean for performance imo.

The thing about Chrome is that they've ironically reduced the size of the chrome and detracted attention away from the browser buttons and towards the content of the page. Also everything is just seamless, I never notice that there's an update until someone mentions it because they don't make such a fuss about it just does it in the background. Unlike firefox which has a little fanfare whenever it updates anything and then forces you to restart the browser.

Well, it doesn't force you to. it brings up a dialogue asking if you would like to restart the browser with 2 options, one being Yes and the other being No (something along those lines, maybe Restart Later.)
