It isn't really about whether people have heard the words really.

Why do you need to feel the need to swear on the radio? The last thing I would want to hear is 'oh that is ******* hilarious, **** me that was funny, oh **** I forgot my password.'

    It would just ruin it.

Can we just make it clear...I think we mean swearing in songs, not the DJ swearing - that's a big nono.

Perhaps if before a song with swearing if a DJ stated.
"This song contains swearing which may be offensive to some users."

    There is that.

Or I remember a long time ago a site that had a button on the DJ panel which DJs could press to warn the listeners they were going to play swear songs, and it just had a little notice on the site (easily viewable) that said *This show may contain songs with bad language* or something. That could be an idea?

I think it depends on the amount of swearing in it. Like Katy Perry's Hot n Cold saying ***** in it I think is fine as I heard it today, but one yesterday saying mother ******* rapist or something was totally out of order, luckily the dj saw that it was very powerful with swearing and therefore changed the song.

I think djs are ok to use words like arse, crap, bloody etc.

Swearing will not be allowed because it sounds bad. I think having warnings etc are pointless because it will still sound bad and gives a bad image. Also we don't just not allow 4 words, they are examples because there was confusion over different words as in different countries they are seen in a different way like not as swearing.

Ok, so you're a parent of a 13 year old who uses Habbo, you walk upstairs and you hear them listening to something on their computer and you hear several swearwords etc coming from the DJ - would you be happy? No, and this is why DJs swearing won't be allowed.

I don't personally have issues with songs that swear, but that's my viewpoint and if Jess & Martin don't agree with that then it's their place to make that decision.
