There are two types of white - the one that holds a number of colours and the electronic white which doesn't. A counter criticism for this - IF there was only one type of white (the one you're talking about), then black and white televisions sets would never of existed.

There's some science behind it, and they have scientific names.

On topic. It does actually look pretty neat Not sure if it will be too popular though, I can see the novelty wearing off.

I just hope you can get different templates for the background e.g. graph paper, lined paper ect.

Yeah, one white exists under CMYK where how white or black is defined by K, where as under RGB (Or the way light works) the amount of white and the amount of black is defined by the combination of R, G and B.

Well by definition there is only one type of white.

I'm pretty sure black and white TV is just greyscale, ie. just different intensities of white light. Although the light isn't perfectly white of course.

I assume it's the same technology used in this device It's not white as we know it from nature, just the white we know from black and white devices. I guess it does use greyscale seeing as it does appear to be drawing in tones - grey, black and white, and all inbetween.

That would be useful It comes in use with printers which offer the ability to print out graph and line paper out to use to write on. Quite a lot of printers don't have this option, but that's a rant for another time

No, pretty sure it is just black and white as it's 1 bit. The shading is just a different densities of black pixels I think.

Looks okay but I think if you could do most colours with it it would be more popular

Hmm, hard to tell from the photos of it :/ It looks like it's using grey tones to possibly to show how hard the pen was pushed, maybe?

The price, form factor and battery life would all take a gigantic turn for the worst in that case.
