They have pretty darn good rights in Canada. There are extremely openly gay people here and they can get legally married and such. Gay rights is still an issue but it's nowhere near as bad of an issue as it used to be. I'd say society here has done a fine job at accepting woman's and homosexual rights.

I think the only people who are against homosexuality are people like the religious fanatics or the same people who don't like black people, the Jewish, woman's rights and so on. So it's not a terribly big issue at all because everyone generally hates people like this who hate homosexuality and woman's rights

One of very few countries to be so open about it. It's quite kept under cover how bad society can really get IMO. I hope it'll get better soon, but any pure equality is difficult to achieve, I still don't think women have completely equal rights, but that might just be me.

No they don't. Not allowed to get married in most countries, and in countries such as Uganda they tried recently to execute people just for being gay. That's not equality.

Yes, and my opinion on them type of gays is because of them too. Nobody could care less about their gay life so no reason to show everybody.

Not in a lot of countries you are right, and that's absolutely disgusting. I think gender equality is great in Canada, UK and the USA though. Besides, it doesn't seem to have any lasting affects on transsexualism, with males choosing to get gender reassignments to become female

I'm not on about Uganda? In the UK they may not be allowed to get married but those in a civil partnership have the same rights as married couples so I would say they do.

Why do you feel the need to ask whether it's a taboo? Clearly it is as many people still aren't very open about it and you'll still find homophobia especially among older people which is near enough impossible to change. A taboo doesn't mean something is wrong or illegal, for instance talking about sex in this country is still considered taboo but it's neither wrong or illegal (In most circumstances at least!).

Yeah, those three are definitely the most advanced in the way they treat people who are different, but I still find that a lot of people would say they agree, and do the opposite. That's my experience anyway... I think people turn a blind eye to transsexualism, seeing the male-female postops as purely female and vice versa, not thinking about what's under the belt (so to speak).

I wasn't talking about just the UK, I was talking about the whole world. If you think that most people are fine and dandy with gays then... just no.

It was a rhetorical question. I know what taboo subjects are. From my experience, I see that a lot of people are hesitant to talk about gays... therefore taboo.

I was not bringing up transsexualism to mention that they're not accepted in society if they're open about it. I was saying that it's ironic how females are the typically the ones in society who lack rights, however males are the ones getting gender reassignments to become females more often than the other way around.

Anywho with regards to what Calvin said (or tried to say) I think he means he doesn't like males who declare themselves homosexual and then submerse the full extent of their time discussing homosexuality, promoting homosexuality, only reading books and watching movies with homosexual characters, constantly endorsing it as this absolutely iceburg sized major problem that society has to get around, and who go out of their way to attempt to belong to what they see as the homosexual crowd, because they want attention. Unfortunately it is individuals such as these whom make themselves look silly trying to do nothing else but attract the attention of others in which the negative stereotypes of homosexual men originate. It's not fair to people who actually are just regular people that are gay because they're labelled. Unfortunately it just comes down to there being an idiot within every crowd

He sounds like a joyfully sinister man curing the uncurable. Maybe he uses cure in a different sense? Take some pork with you and see if he can cure it into bacon. It is your task.
