To be honest you are better off being a normal programmer. You mostly hear nowadays of game studios being shut down. You are better off doing other programming (all be it boring) but still have a job at the end of the day. Also programming games ain't all as good as it seems. Down right stressful

Agreed, this applies for almost every aspect of the media industry as I'm sure you know.

    but heh, enjoyed that interview.

I'm more thinking of programming in general, but obviously games development is something that intrigues me

I'm starting Computing next year for GCSEs as a fun hobby. It's as close as I can get to programming at my age. But tbh, getting a stable career is difficult, and not always do you get paid brilliantly...

people know me because of that shower thing one time and I do not regret anything

upon further review I feel a rather mild regret is warranted

I did the first year of a games development course at uni this year, dropped out because I really didn't enjoy it, but in theory I could go back anytime and keep doing it.
They were teaching us using Unity, but I wasn't really a fan of it, or the coding in general really, I was more into the design side of it. It really helps if you're already making a game or modding before you go on the course, so I'd recommend trying that first.
