That one looks good on paper, but I reckon that they've put large amount of low quality ram in it, with a decent processor and lots of gigabytes on a hard drive since price to gb cost is so low nowadays all so it looks good, but they'll have skimped on graphics, build quality, webcam, cooling etc.

Besides, you'll never use all that RAM, you wouldn't miss that extra 0.1Ghz of computing power and at least with fairly good graphics (Which you have on the HP) you'd be able to watch videos and not have it be very choppy.

For general use in Uni, using MS Word, surfing the internet, listening to music etc, it would be more than good enough.
    Everything should run smoothly too.

graphics are: Intel Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card with 1.7GB memory.
webcams standard 0.3MP (as is the one on this one)
RAM is DDR3 - and i know 8GB is a lot BUT this will have to last me through uni (3 maybe 4 years) and as computers progress the programs that are written will be written assuming a person has modern computing power - perhaps 8GB will become the standard in a few years, who knows?

Yes, i have a imac personally and i love it i don't think i'd ever go back to windows however if you've tried them and don't like them thats your personal opinion, so just get which one you like. By the looks of things all of the ones will do what you need to go
