
I'll forward this message to my friend although he is thinking of moving to another account.It really depends on your ISP. Usually for "most" when you power off and leave the modem off for abit, when you power it back on your ISP assigns a new IP for your machine. Not really a new IP but recycled bunch. For mine it gives me an option in my modem/router option to renew my IP. I think i can do it only once a week.

Usually changing of IP often isn't allowed due to suspicion of hackers avoiding ****.
Try calling your ISP and ask em to reset your connection, that sometimes assigns you a new IP
