    My installation of Windows 7 on my media PC occasionally pops up with a genuine notice like this. It never threatens to lock me out of my computer. It's harmless it seems but would be nice to get rid of the popup.

    I believe I bought my operating system from Ebuyer.com before it was released. I don't complain about an activation system because I didn't buy it.. Oh and you could of saved yourself some money back in the day due to you being a student.

    And I couldn't get it for the student price - only University students can do that and even then it's only certain Universities and certain course students of those certain Universities. It would cost me over $100 to get a W7 license and there's no way I'd even spend that much money on it!
