but this thread isn't for arguing purposes... I've added it to interests instead of work history...
Fine. Then, go for it. But, what I see is bad work history added into interests. If they're about interests, I think you should rephrase it into 'I like communicating with my online friends' instead of 'I have good communicating skills'.
It is actually a very important part of a CV. Good communication skills are vital to an employer.
Here is a basic layout plan.

I see. Just that his communication with me and some other DJs isn't that good.It is actually a very important part of a CV. Good communication skills are vital to an employer.

Hope that helps. That's it. So, I was suggesting him to put something more constructive instead of 'I have good..this..that.'
Btw, adding the skills will be good enough if you rephrase it.
I think you're stepping over the mark... He asked for help on his CV not about how well he is and x y and z. It's his first CV it's not going to be absolutely amazing... Lamar isn't thick, so don't speak to him like he is :S
Hey mate, I've not come across you yet on the forum but I'll give you a few tips to put on your CV, I'm currently jumping to another job and I used something a lecturer said to me a while back. So here goes and I'll provide examples.Hey, I am currently updating my CV & I was thinking to myself:
The reason why I ask this is because being a radio DJ shows good speaking and communication skills as well as listening and reading skills because I am talking and entertaining an audience as well as reading request's and listening to other DJ's (double djing).
Being a News Reporter shows I have good reading and writing skills because I have to read the article (most times) then re-write it in my own way and tell it as-if it was my own story.
So yeah, Is it good or bad to add these roles? and instead of just posting "Yes" or "No" could you explain why please.
1. Don't write essays. Stick to short, simple, sweet... & SELL YOURSELF. You are allowed to exaggerate a little as well.
EXPERIENCE
PLACE OF WORK
10/2010 – 3/2011
Customer service, car returns, suggestive selling, being responsible for cars and their customers, working as a team, problem solving, time management.
2. Try and leave as many references as you can, if you do not have any job referee's use your teachers/tutors and whoever you've dealt with with experiences...
You can also write at the end of the page "References will be provided upon request"
3. When you describe yourself, try and use big words, just use MS Word and just find different words for the same word, that look big and beautiful. For some reason they love this.
I am an energetic, conscientious and motivated individual with excellent communication skills, a range of good sales skills and experience in different working environments.
I have also been able to keep a clean time record, both for work and educational environments, making me an organized person.
I enjoy challenges and I am always willing to try new things. I feel that I am able to work to the best of my abilities in any environment.
I am an ambitious, keen and a quick learning individual.
4. If you have volunteer experience, add it. This counts for your Habbox stuff too. You don't have to go into detail as it is just volunteer experience as it is not paid.
So to end this, sell yourself, be positive and think of it this way, it's your first CV, it's not going to be amazing. But it will get you a job.
Regards,
maken
